More About MCE
I started teaching at age 25 - I had finished uni and had no idea what to do with myself! My dad suggested I give teaching a go ; I thought that was a pretty good endorsement as my dad, like myself , did not particularly enjoy school!
I taught my first lessons in EAL , and immediately loved it. After 5 years in EAL, I went back to uni (where I have spent a lot of time for someone who disliked school) and got my PGCE. I have been teaching secondary and further education ever since.
During the pandemic I started teaching online, and found that I really enjoyed it - I like the fact it allows me to focus more precisely on what my students need individually, and that you can make every minute count in a smaller group or individual setting. I also like my 30 second commute to my desk in my living room, and not having to give any detentions!
